MESYM Documentary Night resumes on 2nd Friday of March

Good news everyone! We have found the new venue for our MESYM Documentary Nights, and it’s as centrally located as it can get – in Plaza Sentral, right beside KL Sentral. This means that the event will be accessible by many forms of public transportation (Kelana Jaya LRT, KTM, Monorail, KLIA Transit/Express, as well as buses), and if you drive the parking is RM4 per entry after 6pm, in Plaza Sentral.

The new address:
Incubation Centre (MSC Malaysia)
Block 1B, Level 3,
Plaza Sentral, Sentral,
Kuala Lumpur

We will start the MESYM Documentary Nights again from March, every second Friday of the month (note that we have changed it from every second Tuesday of the month to Friday). Stay tuned for the announcement of our next film soon!

MESYM Documentary Night for January is Cancelled + Venue Change

Hi guys!

As we are looking for a new venue for our documentary nights, January’s event will be cancelled. Ideally we are looking for a cafe near public transportation that has a projector and a conducive environment for film screenings. We are also open to checking out community centres and/or offices that can be loaned to us with no charge, after work hours or even weekends.

If you have any recommendations or ideas, please leave a comment or send Leo or myself a personal message, so that we can go have a look and talk to the venue owner.

Thanks for your support, and stay tuned for our news on February’s event! Happy new year 🙂

Finally we can add Comments on MESYM!

Finally we can add Comments on MESYM!

It took time, but as we say, better late than never! (And also, it took time because we wanted the Comments section to be awesome! I hope we managed to do it ;))

So this is really big news: finally we have a Comments section in the website!!!

Check out how it looks like in our upcoming event page: MESYM Crossover Documentary Series #6: The Take

  • Log in to add a comment using your MESYM account
  • Or if you (still!) not have a MESYM account, you can also use your Facebook / Twitter / Google+ / LinkedIn account
  • Add nicely formatted comments (bold, different colors, etc)
  • Upload images
  • Embed Youtube videos (just copy the youtube video URL in 1 line, and it will automatically be embedded)

Since we just uploaded it, there might still have some issues (bugs). If you find any problem, please write to us so we can fix it.

And please take part in the conversation! 🙂

MESYM Featured in The Star!

Yay, MESYM has been featured in The Star! In their article, Jun-E and Leo are called “the environmental duo”!!!! Wohohoho that really sounds like a superhero kind of name!

And for second time in 2 media interviews (the previous one was with DurianASEAN), we have been called the “One-stop environmental platform”. Interesting! Maybe it’s time we start calling ourselves this way.

So once again, we are extremely happy that we can be featured in media, so we can further spread the message. Our many thanks to the beautiful Victoria from The Star, who did an awesome job with her interview, and to the hundreds of thousands of new readers we will have (hopefully!).

Hurray, MESYM has its first Sponsor! Thanks IEN Consultants!

Starting this June, MESYM welcomes Sponsorship funding. Through the Sponsorship funding we get, we will finally be able to do many things to spread the message further, such as:

  1. Hire writers to produce quality content
  2. Pay our developers for their tireless and unpaid work on the website – and the website continues to be upgraded with better features to support the community
  3. Hire an employee to oversee operational matters
  4. Deploy marketing campaigns that would make MESYM better known

We have our first Sponsoring Superhero: IEN Consultants!

We want to give our many thanks to IEN Consultants for becoming our first sponsor, and for believing in us and helping in our environmental quest. So many cheers and applauses and hugs and kisses for Gregers and his team. Needless to say, we are extremely happy with it.

Thanks to their generosity, IEN’s gray man logo will be featured in our website: Our Sponsors page, all different sections (eg: check the sidebar in the Events Calendar page), our footer and also our newsletters. Not bad, huh?

A little bit about IEN Consultants

IEN Consultants has more than 10 years of experience and expertise in making the green buildings. Their expert consultants are involved in over 20 projects primarily in Malaysia, amounting to more that 14 million square feet of green building space.

IEN Consultants built the famous ST Diamond building in Putrajaya, which saves 65% of the energy and has a payback time of 3 years. Their vision is that “buildings and transport are low carbon and in balance with what the Earth can handle”.

Cheers gray man!
