MNS Green Living Turtle Volunteer Programme 2015

Let’s lend our turtles and Mother Nature a hand!

Transport: On your own, carpooling strongly encouraged.

Food: On your own. There are many stalls and small restaurants along the beach.

Accommodation: On your own. Participants can contact nearby chalets (e.g. Ismah Beach Resort, Kemunting Beach Resort) to arrange for accommodation if needed, or opt to camp on the beach next to the Turtle Conservation Centre.

Cost per participant: RM30 (RM25 as a donation to the Turtle Conservation and Information Centre and RM5 as a donation to Green Living for the purchase of beach cleanup equipment etc). Please bring your cash donation with you on the same day.

Proposed itinerary:
Saturday afternoon: Briefing and educational video, tour of the Centre, turtle holding pond cleanup and bathing and washing the turtles that are being cared for in the centre for rehabilitation and research purposes.
Saturday evening: Hatchery cleanup, beach cleanup, beach litter audit.
Saturday night: Turtle hatchling release, turtle nesting observation (if one turns up!), night walk.

This activity is limited to 30 participants (age 6 and above) who must have valid MNS memberships.
