WHAT IS BIJI-BIJI INITIATIVE?

Founded in 2012, Biji-biji Initiative is a social enterprise that aims to share progressive ideas with everyone. We champion sustainable living, reuse waste creatively and we love collaborative production. By using discarded materials, basic electronics and passive building techniques we aim to inspire Malaysians with fresh and fun approaches to sustainable living. Here at our Open Workshop in Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, we strive to create viable resources and making this accessible to the masses. We invite any interested individual to collaborate with us.

A LITTLE ABOUT OPEN SOURCE CIRCULAR ECONOMY

WHAT IS CIRCULAR ECONOMY?

Circular Economy is when different materials and manufacturing cycles are carefully aligned, so that the output of one process always feeds the input of another. It is a practical solution to the Planet’s emerging Natural Resources.

WHAT IS OPEN SOURCE?

Open Source means publishing how things are made, such as recipe, software code, production data, or design files so that anyone can study, use and build upon this information. This often occurs through decentralized and distributed collaboration.

SO, OPEN SOURCE CIRCULAR ECONOMY PROVIDES …

With an open source approach, solutions to our ecological problems are shared amongst all of us. After all, a waste-free circular economy cannot work without transparency.

WHAT IS OPEN SOURCE CIRCULAR ECONOMY DAYS?

Open Source Circular Economy Days is a global event exploring the many ways to sustain our planet. Local cities connected through various media channels will be engaging in a global conversation. Experts and innovators will work together on an open platform, globally connected, in order to develop and exchange ideas for an Open Source Circular Economy. OSCE Days will be held in 31 cities across the globe such as London, Stockholm, Singapore, Chicago, Chennai, Yogyakarta, Berlin, Amsterdam, Auckland, Paris and right here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
