Public Forum on Reforms in Peninsular Malaysia’s Electricity Sector

You are invited to participate in a public forum convened by ISIS Malaysia on Reforms in Peninsular Malaysia’s Electricity Sector. This forum will be held on November 7, 2013 at the Hilton Petaling Jaya in Selangor from 0900hrs to 1720hrs.

This forum brings together representatives of the Malaysian society to discuss plans to reform Malaysia’s electricity sector that are put forward for consideration by the government of Malaysia. Representatives are chosen from government bodies, energy suppliers, energy consumers, as well as regional figures with expertise in relevant issues.

Discussion will revolve around four main themes: energy market outlook and regional experience with electricity market reform; electricity tariff review in Malaysia and its expected impact; reforms to increase competitiveness in Malaysia’s electricity sector; and, transition and adaptation to a new sectorial structure.
