Greetings all nature lovers,

For the past 6 years, Shah Alam Trees for Life has bring diverse groups of people together. Tree planting events provide an opportunity for community involvement that improves the quality of life.

Lets do something green for Mother Nature by planting more trees in the city! We welcome you to volunteer for free at SHAH ALAM TREES FOR LIFE – 23 JANUARY 2016. Come and get your hands dirty with soil, that will be a mix of hard work, education and fun (suitable for children with parents supervision).

DATE: 23 JANUARY 2016 (SATURDAY)
TIME: 7.30 AM – 12.00 PM

We will be planting mostly FRUIT TREES.
(Fact: One large tree can provide a day’s supply of oxygen for up to four people.)

7.30 am
– Registration / Light breakfast
– Eco-Talk 1: Local Tree Species: Dr. Jean Joseph Weber (Yahya Yusuf Weber)
– Eco-Talk 2: Nature-friendly Practices
– Eco-Talk 3 ‘Shah Alam Trees For Life 2015 – House Rules’ – Mr. Bernard Eng

8.30 am
– Prayer recitation
– Welcome speech by Shah Alam Mayor
– Speech by sponsors – Monash University
– The division of plots and the planting of trees to volunteers.

11.00 am
– End of tree planting session
– Closing ceremony and lunch
(Certificate of appreciation will be given upon request)

THINGS TO BRING BY VOLUNTEER
Please inform that all volunteers are compulsory to bring along the following equipments:
• Own gardening gloves
• Sport shoes
• Reusable water tumble

THINGS PROVIDED BY ORGANIZER
• Gardening Tools
• Free refreshments (light breakfast and brunch)

REGISTRATION
– On the event day, registration start 7.30am, please be punctual as registration will close by 8.00 am.
– The registration is based on first come first serve basis, hence any absence without prior notice will result in your name being listed in our reserve list for future events.
– We appreciate your attendance once completed registration to avoid inconveniences.

TRANSPORT TO SITE (NOT PROVIDED)
– From our experience, we received various enquiries about arrangement of transport to the site. However, logistic arrangement is volunteer’s responsibility, we encourage you to invite family or friends who have transport and carpool together. If not, you could choose to take a taxi to the site.
