Curious about air quality in your state?

Did you know that the Department of Environment maintains a fairly comprehensive database of Air Pollution Indexes? Here’s a nifty link to have.

There are five levels of classifications in the API:

  • Good (0-50)
  • Moderate (51-100)
  • Unhealthy (101-200)
  • Very Unhealthy (201-300)
  • Hazardous (>301)

Right now the whole country is doing pretty well. As of 5pm today, most locations are listed under “Good”, and there are only 5 locations that are “moderate” – SK Jln Pegoh in Ipoh (53), Seremban (51), Bukit Rambai in Melaka (61), Pasir Gudang in Johor (54) and Kota Tinggi in Johor (52). Interesting information!

Here’s a breakdown by time slot – they measure the API 3 times every day.

Also interesting is the accumulated air quality status, where you can see the breakdown in specific locations of each state. How many days of the year did you have good air quality?
