Donation Drive for Victims of the Kemaman Floods

Dear friends,

The severity of the floods in Kemaman warrants an immediate action from those of us who are able to make a difference.

As many of you know, the Society that I co-founded carries out a River Terrapin Research and Conservation Project with the collaboration of three local communities along the Kemaman River, i.e. Kg. Tok Kapor (Binjai), Kg. Pasir Gajah and Kg. Dadong.

On Tuesday, 3rd December 2013, many villages along the Kemaman River were submerged in flood waters. Villagers were unprepared for the water level to rise so quickly, in fact, they were unable to save their belongings and had to be evacuated. Please see pictures taken in Kg. Pasir Gajah, Kemaman:

We are unable to be there to supply food and water to the victims of the Kemaman floods, but we are raising funds to help them. We would like to appeal to you, to make a donation through the Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia, to help these victims. Please consider making a donation to the victims of the Kemaman floods. No amount is too big or small.

Donations should be transferred into the official TCS account, which will be handed to the Head of Villages whenever it is safe for us to visit them.
