Internship position at MYCAT

Intern with the Malaysian Conservation Alliance for Tigers (MYCAT) to gain first-hand experience of tiger conservation efforts in Malaysia! We are looking for one intern.

MYCAT is an alliance of the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS), TRAFFIC Southeast Asia, Wildlife Conservation Society-Malaysia Programme and WWF-Malaysia, supported by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks Peninsular Malaysia for joint implementation of the National Tiger Conservation Action Plan for Malaysia.

The suitable intern will have:

  • Malaysian citizenship
  • computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc)
  • energetic, creative, independent, detail-oriented and responsible personality and good work ethics
  • knowledge/interest in the conservation field an advantage
  • ability to work well in a team and also independently
  • ability to communicate well with the general public

The main function of the intern is to assist MYCAT Secretariat’s Office in implementing joint projects and in daily operation of the office.

The specific duties include:

1. Project Implementation

  • To assist in organising and facilitating the Tiger Roadshows
  • To assist in recruiting and training volunteers
  • To assist in promoting the Wildlife Crime Hotline

2. General administrative support

  • To assist in handling daily office operations such as filing, answering calls, and photo-copying
  • To maintain a database on news clippings, volunteers, projects, merchandise, assets and media outputs

Duration and period: Two months or more; flexible

Based: Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia
