A social enterprise is an organization that applies commercial strategies to maximize improvements in human and environmental well-being, rather than maximizing profits for external shareholders.

Social Enterprises represent an alternative to the “Business as usual” economic system where only the profit matters, and where everything is allowed in order to maximize the profit, even destroying the environment and the people inhabiting this planet.
