Global Climate March Penang

On Sunday, November 29th, Penang citizens will join millions worldwide in a global day of action to call on world leaders for 100% clean energy and an end to climate change. Last year, the People’s Climate March on September 21st was the largest mobilization in history with over 400,000 people who marched through Manhattan and hundreds of thousands more who rallied in over 2,000 communities around the world. This year, the Global Climate March plans to be even bigger.

This mobilization is taking place right before the UN Climate Summit in Paris in order to demonstrate to leaders that the world wants an end to fossil dependency and push them to agree to a target of 100% green energy.

Come join us on Sunday, November 29th at 8AM at the Occupy Beach St. Market near the HSBC. At the event, we will hear speeches, write messages of encouragement to leaders to take action on climate change, and march on the nearby streets. We will also take a group photo to send to to let Penang be counted among the thousands of communities worldwide that want a cleaner, greener future.

Although our voices in Penang may be small, they will be heard loud and strong as they join the millions of others who will gather on the same day to give the same message: no more fossil fuels! We will show the world that Penang cares about the future of our planet.
