A symbol to race against time, this 14.9km hike through nature is aimed at replanting trees and creating awareness on the importance of conserving our rainforest. Take part in our cause and be part of a 2 person team race for just RM 80 per person (RM 160 per team). Fee includes breakfast, lunch, T-shirt, race-kit and a tree for each team.

Join us as we once again organize our “Save Our Rainforest Race” for the year 2015!

PEKA Malaysia’s annual “Save Our Rainforest Race” is back! And this time, we are going to hike through a forest in Perak.

Register now and participate on this coming 28th March 2015 at Hutan Lipur, Kuala Woh, Tapah, Perak.

A symbol to race against time, this 10km hike through nature is aimed at replanting trees and creating awareness on the importance of conserving our rainforest. Take part in our cause and be part of a 2 person team race for just RM 80 per person (RM 160 per team). Fee includes breakfast, lunch, T-shirt, race-kit and a tree for each team.

Program Details

• 7.00am – Registration & Refreshment / T-shirt

• 8.00am – Doa Recital, Race Briefing, Safety Briefing, Aerobics / Warm Up

• 9.00am – #SORR2015 FLAG OFF

• 1.00pm – FINISH LINE, Lunch

• 2.30pm – End

RULES & REGULATIONS

*SORR 2015 is only open to ages of 16 and above
*Participants between ages of 16-18 years old must be accompanied / paired with a guardian (aged 21 years and above).

*Strictly no children are allowed to join this race. Please do not bring children and leave them unattended throughout the event.

* Pregnant women are NOT allowed to join the race and people with health problems are advised NOT to join (heart problem, slipped disc, asthma, etc)

*Please be reminded that this is a hiking event.  So please wear hiking shoes and appropriate attire for the hiking activity.

*The race route includes tar road, suspended bridge (limited to 15 pax at one time), uphill hike in the forest (jungle trekking) and tree planting area.

*Toilets and changing rooms will be at briefing point area only. Please feel free to go nature but please be discreet and mind your surroundings

*Water booths will be available along the routes. Please mind your manners and queue.

*  Marshalls and volunteers will be stationed at every check points. Kindly adhere to their instructions

* Do not leave your valuables unattended. We will not be responsible for any losses or damages of valuable items. Please do not leave valuables in your parked vehicle. All belongings are at your own responsibility and risk.

* Explore & Appreciate Nature’s Best. Do not pluck any leaves, plants,rocks or take anything home.

* Rubbish bags will be provided at every check points. Strictly NO LITTERING!

DOs
* Do some stretching to avoid any cramps and muscle pull.
* Do build up stamina prior to the race; the race route includes uphill hike in the forest and require at least basic hiking experience.

DON’Ts
* Do not run! This event is a Peaceful Hike Through Nature. Please adhere for safety reasons.
* Do not scream or shout while completing the race.
* Do not push one another while completing the race.
* Do not litter! There will be rubbish bags throughout the route.

We are glad to inform that PEKA will be having our ” Bera Replantation Project-1st Stage”  on:

Date : 31st October 2013 ( Thursday)
Time: 9.00am- 1.00pm
Location: Hutan Simpan Tasek Bera ( Tapak RAMSAR) , Jalan Loji Air Sungai Bera, Felda Triang 02, 28200 Bera, Pahang (Exit Tol Temerloh via East Coast Highway)

The itinerary for the programme:
9.00am : Arrival of Volunteers
9.15am – 9.30am : Briefing
9.30am – 1.00pm : Replantation
1.00pm : Lunch
2.00pm: DismissWe are expecting to plant 5000 trees for this 1st stage. We welcome all supports for volunteers for this project.Lunch are provided for all the volunteers. Breakfast and transportion to the site are under own expenses.Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information. Kindly confirm your participation with us.

JOIN US Nature Lovers!

When: 12th September 2013 (Thursday)

Where: Compartment 31, Hutan Simpan Kekal Bukit Tinggi
(Near Chamang Waterfall, 1 hour from KL)

From Bentong Town it is 12 km.
5km distance (approximately 20 minutes) from Chamang Waterfall – There will be 4X4 available for volunteers and there will be a 10mins walk to the site.

Space:+- 6 acres (Capacity: 1500 tree saplings)

Species: Meranti, Chengal, Pulai (Penentuan Spesies dibuat oleh Pejabat Hutan Daerah Bentong dan PSN Pahang Barat).

What to bring:

Long Pants, Long Sleeve, Gloves, Small Pen Knife (the 20 cent ones will do), Sport Shoes.

What will be given:
Breakfast, Tree saplings, Lunch and much gratitude from us at PEKA and Mother Nature.

7.30AM-8.00AM: Arrival of Volunteers
8.00AM-8.30AM: Breakfast
8.30AM – 9.00AM: Briefing by PEKA & Forestry Department
9.00AM-1.00PM: Replantation
1.00AM – 1.30PM: Lunch

We will be replanting another 500 tree saplings at a new location that was illegally logged at Chamang Waterfall (Hutan Simpan Bukit Tinggi) This event is a collaboration between PEKA MALAYSIA, ROCKCORPS MALAYSIA and JABATAN PERHUTANAN.

Trees are sponsored by CONCORDE HOTELS & RESORTS

Transportation: Own transport to Chamang Waterfall, Bentong Pahang, and we will have 4×4 vehicles to bring you up to the location. And only 10minutes of walking to Hutan Simpan Bukit Tinggi.

Things to bring: Own gloves, Trekking shoes, Long pants, Razor Blade (to cut the plastic from the tree saplings) Raincoat / Poncho / Cap / Big Heart ♥
