Company Overview
Be part of this fast-growing group and join any of our exciting quests to the country’s beautiful waterfalls. Since all beautiful things are better shared, why not get your friends to tag along.
Waterfall Survivors is a group under Waterfall Explorers Sdn Bhd single-handedly created by a waterfall lover with an aim to meet others who get the same kick and excitement at the thunderous sound of crashing water in the tranquil setting of the rainforest like she does.
As long as you enjoy the same passion – to leave the civilisation for a day, or two, and soak in the unassuming nature to find powerful force and beauty of a waterfall, Waterfall Survivors is a group for you.
You don’t have to be a hardcore trekker or mountaineer, or super fit with an ironman stamina to be a Waterfall Survivor. You just need to be adventurous and daring – not to conquer the rough terrain, but more to meet and make new friends, and come along with an open mind and a bag full of sense of humour.
Description
Waterfall Survivors organises regular waterfall exploration trips which can be a day-tripper or an over-night excursion. The trips are done in a very friendly and casual fashion – meet, car-pool, trek, oohh and aahh (at the waterfall) and back to civilization. Waterfall Survivors only charges a minimal administration fee. Others – transportation and meals – incurred throughout the journey are individual responsibility unless stated.

less...The use of plastic continues to expand with the majority of them being used in producing beverage containers or plastic bags. In 2006 more than 60 billion plastic bottles were used for beverages in the US and 40% increase of plastic bag use reported by Australia despite retailers claiming more people carrying reusable bags.
Most plastic bottles and some plastic bags are recyclable; however, with beverage bottles being mostly consumed away from home, and plastic bags are frequently handed out by retailers, and the lack of recycle receptacles in public locations in US and Australia recycle rate is less than 25%. This means that overall more than 75% of all plastic are ending up in landfills or as litter. There is no data available in Asia or Malaysia on the usage of plastic and its recycle rate.
Plastic bottles and plastic bags which end up in landfills or as litter are estimated to take 300-500 years to biodegrade. This has lead to a very serious plastic pollution problem in landfills, water ways and on the roadside, and this problem continues to grow along with the plastic industry. In Asia we are met with an additional pressing issue of baby diapers and polystyrene as public litter.
Plastics have already significantly changed our lives and lifestyles; however we must take responsibility as consumers in using plastic more wisely and disposing it more responsibly. Plastic is used and disposed wisely can reduce greenhouse gases by 52% according to The Royal Society of US, calculation is based on raw material, production, delivery, shelving, consumption, disposal, recycle mechanism.
Recently, efforts by private advocacy groups and state/local governments have initiated programs that are improving recycling and building consumer awareness of the growing problem with plastic bottle environmental issues. With the people and corporate environmental responsibility (PaCER) projects implemented by Waterfall Explorers Sdn. Bhd., we aim at contributing to the environment in 2 simple steps: (1) Cleaning up campaign, (2) Advocating for responsible visitors (3) Waterfall Adoption
Biodegradation is the secretion of acids by microbes which break down the molecular structure and emit either methane gas or CO2 and leave behind highly nitrous soil. The entire mass must be broken down into these three things to be considered biodegradable. Any plastics that biodegrade in microbial environment, leaves behind polymer residue or toxic materials into the soil, water and air.
The PaCER Project emphasis is on ensuring our waterfalls and parks resumes to its original condition, and educating the right civic consciousness for the environment among the community at the waterfall. This project represents a potential for connecting the local community with responsible behavior towards the environment.
