Connecting the green dots
We aim to streamline the environmental movement in Malaysia, through these interconnected functions:
To provide a central repository of information on environmental movements: who’s doing what – when, where, why and how
To provide a voice and platform for experts to share their knowledge on issues of environmentalism and sustainability
To support networking and collaboration of environmentalists, whether individuals or organizations
To encourage online discussions and offline participation in good causes and events
The project is driven by a core team, a team of people who are highly dedicated to the project. Anyone who is sufficiently committed (who contributes a lot of time and effort, and comes regularly to the team meetings, etc.) can join the core team. Decisions will be made by the core team through consensus. Besides the core team, we have other volunteers working on various areas such as web development, design, and so on. We also have an advisory board - stakeholders who give us ideas and feedback about the website and the movement in general.
We are constantly looking for Volunteers. If interested, please visit our Take Part and Who we are pages, or just Contact us.

We’re organizing a social event and AGM this weekend:
Date: 17th March 2018 (Saturday)
Time: 1:30 pm (talk), 2:30 pm (AGM)
Venue: Red Clementine Cafe, MKH Boulevard, Kajang
We will give a talk on turtles and terrapins at 1:30 pm and we will also share with you the projects/activities that TCS has carried out in 2017, as well as some of our research and outreach plans for 2018. If you have a suggestion (or two, or three) about future projects and/or collaborations, we’d love to hear from you!
Our AGM will commence at 2:30 pm. You are most welcome to join too! The agenda for the AGM is as follows:
1. President’s Opening Address
2. To approve the minutes of the 6th AGM held on 12th March 2017
3. To receive and adopt the Annual Activities Report for 2017
4. To receive and adopt the Treasurer’s Report for 2017
5. To elect a new Committee and two Internal Auditors for 2018—2020
6. To consider any matters of which notice has been given to the Secretary at least 14 days before the AGM
This is an election year, as such, we’d appreciate your presence at the meeting. We also welcome all individuals who would like to contribute to TCS and turtle conservation to be a part of this very meaningful partnership. We’d love to do more for our turtles, but we cannot do this alone. We need your help and support.
We’d love for you to bring your family! Please feel free to share this event with your friends/colleagues/network too. Kindly confirm your attendance by Thursday, 15th March 2018 (just click reply to let us know).
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at the meeting!

The 2018 monthly tree planting activity is an annual activity organised to promote the importance of North Selangor Peat Swamp Forest to the public. This activity is aimed at conserving the various species of peat swamp and restoring the deteriorated area to its former glory, retaining the original characteristics of the peat swamp forest. The participation is on a first come, first served basis, limited to 100 participants with 400-600 seedlings for each of the planting session — in one hectare area of the forest reserve.
The half day activity is a collaborative effort by the Selangor State Government, Selangor Forestry Department, Friends of North Selangor Peat Swamp Forest and Global Environment Centre. The rehabilitation programme is supported by the HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad and the Selangor State Government.
